Join us Saturday April 20 at 9:30 for a hike at Watts Flats State Wildlife Management Area near Panama. This flat railroad grade passes by ponds and is a great place for birds and wildlife. We may be lucky to see the five resident sandhill cranes, along with geese, swans, ducks, muskrats, beavers, etc. The hike is approximately 1 1/2 miles out and back, for a total of 3 miles, with the possibility to extend a bit.
Directions: Take Route 474 W. from Lakewood. Turn south (left) On the Blockville – Watts Flats Road (Co. Touring route 35) (This is just past Dollar General). Drive South 3 miles. Turn right on odd Fellows Road. Park at gate or along the road beside the large buildings. Don’t block the gate or driveways, please. 42.0373984, 79.4130417
