Our secretary, Wendy Lewellen, wrote the book, Good Soles: Chautauqua Rails to Trails Namesakes and Trailblazers. She had the unbelievably wonderful, serendipity experience to be seated three rows behind Matthew Diggs, who financed the entire Nancy B. Diggs Trail, at the ballet at the Amphitheater at Chautauqua during Week Eight this summer.
Meeting the Diggs was one of the many joys she experienced during her book research. Matthew purchased the land, at considerable cost, to honor his beloved wife.
