Please join us on Christmas Eve – Friday, December 24 – for our annual Christmas Eve Hike. This hike commemorates a tragic train accident that occurred at Prospect Station in Portland in 1872. The accident resulted in the deaths of over 20 people.
We’ll will meet at the Prospect Station trailhead at 2:00, hike about 1/4 mile to the site of the accident, learn more about it, remember the victims, and walk back to the trailhead where we’ll enjoy warm refreshments to celebrate 34 years of Chautauqua Rails to Trails.
